Setting up a Custom Box oauth application

By default, you do not need to configure anything to start uploading Box files, Filestack is ready to go out of the box. When a user logs into their Box account from your site, the Filestack company application will show up. You can configure it so that your application shows up instead in order to make a more seamless experience for your customers. So let's get started.

This video walks through the steps listed below

  1. Go to
  2. Sign up or if you already have an account go to My Apps.
  3. Go to (if you already have an application, click “create a box application” in the side bar).

  4. Give your application a name and choose Box Content.

  5. Enter in the redirect_url field under OAuth2 Parameters and hit save.

  6. Copy the client_id and client_secret and go to the developer portal, click on Auth Keys and then enter the client_id under Box App Key and the client secret under Box App Secret, and hit save.

  7. Test to make sure you can connect to your Box app through Filestack.
